This weekend, NARAL Pro-Choice California members, including members of NARAL’s volunteer-led Antelope Valley Action Council, joined Representative Katie Hill (D-CA) for a Feminist Forum focusing on reproductive freedom and her efforts in the House to protect every American’s ability to make their own decisions about pregnancy, free from government interference.
During the event, NARAL members from across her southern California district asked questions about ways advocates for reproductive freedom can fight back against the Trump administration’s anti-choice agenda and how reproductive rights will be critical in the 2020 election.
“2020 is just around the corner and the anti-choice, anti-women legislators in power are going to be working overtime to gain their House majority back,” said Rep. Hill. “There’s so much work to do on the ground to protect what we’ve won and gain back both the Senate and the White House–Saturday’s event proves that we are still engaged and still mobilized. I’m so proud to give a voice to our community and fight for continued access to comprehensive women’s reproductive care.”

Rep. Hill talks about her experiences fighting for reproductive freedom in Congress.
NARAL Pro-Choice America endorsed Congresswoman Hill’s re-election campaign earlier this year as a result of her strong pro-choice policies and her record of standing up for the fundamental rights of California women and families. In 2018, NARAL and its grassroots membership in California’s 25th Congressional District were key to Representative Hill’s victory over anti-choice incumbent Representative Steve Knight. In Congress, she continues to be a strong advocate for reproductive freedom against Republicans’ efforts to turn back the clock on our fundamental rights.
